Our Condolences

For those of you who knew her, Maxine Keymer has passed away. She was just shy of her 94th birthday (Aug. 18). Maxine was a pastor's wife, and had a sense of humor (necessary in her position) that made visiting with her an enjoyable time! About a year ago, Maxine fell and sustained head injuries, and had become bed-ridden. She went to sleep in Jesus last Sabbath morning, June 25, at 2:30 a.m. There will not be a service. You may send your condolences to her grand-daughter & Wasatch Hills member, Kristy Varley, at 2791 S. Humanity Cove, Magna, UT 84044.

You Rock!

Hello Church family,
I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU for your faithfulness in giving. We met our church budget for the 2015-2016 budget year. Every year things begin to feel a little tense as we wait to see what the final balance is going to be. God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He shares blessings with us. He in turn asks us to return our tithes and share offerings as we feel blessed. Because of the blessings this congregation has received from God and your faithful giving, the ministry of the Wasatch Hills SDA Church is able to continue to move forward. Our annual church budget covers basic (and sometimes boring) items, but it also funds the vital ministries of our church. So, in addition to keeping the lights on and the heat going in the winter, it funds evangelism, Dinner with a Doctor, Sabbath School programs, and a much longer list of items than I have room to share with you. Again, I just wanted to share a heartfelt thanks for your faithfulness to God in this area. May God continue to bless! Ps. Case

Please continue this special prayer request from Dan Jackson:

I am requesting that you activate your NAD 'prayer chain' throughout the next seven days. I am asking you to pray that God will open the hearts of legislators in the State of California to His will as they deliberate proposed Bill 1146 on discrimination. Should this Bill pass there could be very serious consequences for our institutions of higher learning and all religious, faith based, institutions in that state. God bless you for doing this.

Pastor's Post
We're back! We had a wonderful time in Australia, but as they say, there is no place like home.
We fly from Salt Lake City to LAX. From LAX to Melbourne. We spent a week visiting friends and I was blessed with the opportunity to preach at the Wantirna SDA Church where I had served as a youth pastor, almost two decades ago. It was an enjoyable reunion.
Then we flew to Ayers Rock in the center of Australia. I wasn't that excited to go on this part of the trip, I was doing it because it was "one of the things to see." But I came away truly impressed. I was able to climb the rock and the view was astounding.
Next we flew to Cairns and spent the week snorkeling on the great barrier reef and exploring the rain forest.
We concluded the trip by flying to Sydney and visiting the opera house, Avondale College, Ellen White's home, and catching up with more friends.
The trip ended with an eternal flight home. I adjusted to the time change pretty easily going to Australia. Coming home was another story. I'm still not fully adjusted, but almost.
I was impressed with the conformity of nature around the world, yet the vast variety that exists. God is truly an amazing God.
I look forward to seeing you this Sabbath!
If all goes well we will actually have pancakes on the patio!

Youth Pastor "Introducation"
Pt. 3 (3 part series)
|
|
Hello Wasatch Hills Church family. This is Ps. Case. I'm excited to announce, that as of July 1, Zachary Parks will be joining our ministry team to serve as an associate pastor. His emphasis will be our youth and young adults. It's going to be exciting to welcome him to Wasatch this Sabbath! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the fall of 2011, I attended my first day of school outside of home. I had chosen Walla Walla University and was excited about the next big phase in my life. At Walla Walla I had the opportunity to be a resident assistant in the dorm and be a part of many leadership committees. I was able to participate in music leadership for the University church and had the chance to lead their junior high youth group for a while, as well.
When I arrived at Walla Walla I didn't immediately choose a major, but after the first year I was completely certain that there was nothing I wanted to do more than to share Jesus with people. I believe that Jesus and his principles are the key to the happiest life possible. The methods of Jesus are what inspire me as a person to change and to grow. When it came time to interview, I watched God move and change my expectations many times. At just the right moment He brought the position at Wasatch to my attention and I was so blessed to meet Pastor Adam and some of the leadership. I am thrilled to be joining your church family and am absolutely certain that God orchestrated this from the beginning. I am so excited to meet each of you and to be a part of a community where, clearly, Jesus is present :)
 Zach
