Youth Pastor "Introducation"
Pt. 1 (3 part series)

Hello Wasatch Hills Church family.  This is Ps. Case.  I'm excited to announce, that as of July 1, Zachary Parks will be joining our ministry team to serve as an associate pastor.  His emphasis will be our youth and young adults.  It's going to be exciting to welcome him to Wasatch.  Over the next few weeks we will get to learn a little more about him in the Happenings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello! My name is Zachary Parks. I was born in the little town of Paradise, California. My father was a youth pastor and my mother left her job as a nurse to be a full-time, stay at home mom and teacher, as I ended up homeschooling for my entire scholastic career up to college. I have been involved in church life as early as I can remember. From the time I was about 2 years old, my parents had me up front singing and I was even allowed to give my first "sermon" at the age of 9! When I was 6 years old, my family (which by then included a baby sister, Ariana, 2 years younger) moved from Paradise to Salem, Oregon, where my dad became the Senior pastor of the East Salem SDA church. It was here that I completed my grade schooling.
               Shortly after moving to Salem, my mother became pregnant with my little sister, Emilianne. During this time, somebody convinced my mother that both my middle sister (Ariana) and I had natural musical talent and should start taking music lessons. My parents quickly decided to give piano lessons a try - which would turn out to be one of the most important decisions ever! The lessons were an immediate hit as both of us loved them. I discovered not only did I love learning the music, but it came rather naturally. By the time I reached my 8th grade year, piano lessons and the accompanying competitions and practice hours had become a normal part of everyday life.
               I feel so blessed that my parents made sure God was ever present in our home and, consequently, He became a natural part of everything I thought or did. Looking back, I can see that God was shaping me gently every day into a disciple of His. Jesus became the most important thing in my life and remains the definer of both who I am and what I do.
