Pastor's Post

It was 4 hours before my Southwest flight was scheduled to depart. Suddenly, fear grabbed me as I realized I had failed to check in early. If you've flown Southwest Airlines, you know that it's open seating. If you don't check in early, that means that you board the plane LAST. Getting on a Southwest plane last means you get a middle seat.
To put it mildly - I DON'T LIKE MIDDLE SEATS.
I sat at the breakfast table glumly thinking about my upcoming four hour flight crammed into the middle seat. During our family breakfast prayer I selfishly prayed that God would bless me with a seat that wasn't in the middle of the plane. I immediately felt guilty as I reluctantly began to accept my upcoming cramped travel experience.
I drove to the airport, worked my way through security, got dressed again, sat down at the gate and waited. The A boarding group was called, the B group was called, finally they got to the Z group and I was called to walk onto the plane. As I slowly ambled down the isle of the plane I could see my seat. It was in the back of the plane, and a middle seat. I was OK at this point, resigned to my discomfort.
Finally, I stood in front of the gentlemen in the aisle seat. I put my bag in the overhead compartment in the final open space on the plane. I looked at the gentlemen in the aisle seat and I motioned toward the middle seat, "Is this seat taken" I asked? To my amazement he smiled, moved into the middle seat, leaving the aisle seat open for me.
I couldn't believe it! Who does that? Then it hit me - God had answered my selfish prayer. I spent the entire trip amazed at the kindness of the gentleman sitting next to me, and that God had answered such a simple prayer. Our God is in control of the universe, but He still takes time to focus on the little things in life, too. What a gracious and beautiful God we serve!

Wasatch Love Letters
| |
A new ministry is beginning here at Wasatch! Practically any age or anyone can participate and it only takes a few minutes each week. I will be compiling an email list of those that would like to get the email each week that will contain a name of a Wasatch Hills member or someone associated with a member that will be given to us by our nurturing/caring committee. It will be someone that is especially in need of encouragement, cheer, or extra support. We will show we care by sending a card or note and filling their mailbox with love! Email Brenda Watson, brenda@wasatchhills.org to participate and I will put you on the list. I would love to have at least 50+ participants.

Stephanie Jordana is the daughter of Jonn and Carol Jordana from the Community Vineyard SDA Group in the Ogden area. She has been sick for the last two years with a strange infection called Mycobacterium abscessus
that has caused her to be sick & wounds that won't heal, so she has to stay home and take anti-bacterial infusions, thus a loss of job and no income. She has been taking chemo pills at a cost of $900 per day. Some doctors feel that her infection was exacerbated by her brain tumor. According to her neurosurgeon, he estimates the Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) Stage IV brain cancer that she was diagnosed with has been growing in her system for the last two years based on her age and the size of the tumor. We were lucky they found it in an MRI this January. God will spare her life but not without all the help and support she can get from friends, relatives and loved ones. Thank you for what help you can give.
