RANDOM RUMBLINGS
My Case's Traces

Recently, I've had opportunity to get out my carpenter tools and build a few things out of wood.  I own some very basic tools.  A small circle saw, a hammer, a measuring tape, a square, and a pencil were the only tools that I needed for these jobs.

I visited my local Home Depot and purchased some 8 foot pine boards.  First, to build some birdhouses with the Adventurers, then, shortly after that, to build a special table to contain Joshua's ever growing Lego collection.

I struggled with the bird house.  The problem was I had a terrible time cutting a straight line.  I kept putting the bird houses together and nothing was lining up as I wanted it to.  Finally, I gave up and determined that we were simply going to build "rustic" bird houses.  The kids had a great time and many of you now have a "rustic" bird house at your house.

As it came time to build Joshua's Lego table I was determined to do better.  I drew up my plans, made my measurements, checked my measurements.  I set my square on the boards and drew my lines.  My frustration grew as I began to put the table together.  Again my lines were crooked.

As my project drew to a close I suddenly realized what the problem was... my square... wasn't.  When your square isn't square it makes it very difficult to have straight lines.  There I was, working for hours, trying to make straight lines with a crooked square.

The spiritual parallel jumped out at me.  We spend much of our lives trying to make our paths straight, but we are sinful.  We need a square, square.  That would be God.  God is the only one who can set us straight.

My prayer is that we will all allow God to set us straight.

TO FRESNO WE GO!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR
SUPPORT!

Thanks to the generosity of the Wasatch Hills church this past Sabbath with the special offering bringing in about $800.00, and that allowing for the $500.00 match from church funds, a total of approximately $1,300.00 was raised to help our winning Pathfinder team go to Fresno this weekend.  Our Next Gen Pathfinder team, as a first place team in the Conference level competition in Reno, has qualified them to continue on to the Union level competition in Fresno on March 19
