Reflections

Sometimes it is nice to sit back and reflect.  When you are living in the midst of an event, it is sometimes hard to get an accurate perspective.  I remember when Joshua was only a few months old and dealing with colic.  It was terrible.  It was never going to end.  It was going to last forever.  His crying was going to go on for the rest of my life.  With hindsight I see the truth is that in only lasted a number of weeks.  It seemed like an eternity at the time, but now that he is ten years old I can see it was just a blip on the radar screen of life.

I took a few moments this past week to reflect on our church.  It was refreshing to see how God has been blessing.  Our membership has grown by more than 10%.  Our giving has increased by more than 40%.  Our average attendance has increased from 125 on any given Sabbath to 175.

When we see growth like this one of the first questions we ask is "why?"  I don't have all the answers, but I believe that one reason is that God is working in the lives of people.  I believe another is community.  People are finding community at the Wasatch Hills SDA Church.  You likely have some additional thoughts on our recent growth.  I would certainly be interested in hearing them.

It has been fun to step back and see what God is doing in the life of our church.  I would encourage you to take a step back this week and look for what God is doing in your life.  What has God accomplished in your life over the past 12 months?

God bless you and have a wonderful week.

ICOR DISTRIBUTION
Feb. 13
1 p.m.
Pioneer Park
Volunteers needed to
help hand out items!

Here is how you can help:
Going through your winter clothes and your seldom used stuff.  You can drop it off in the bin marked for ICOR in the coat closet, and donations are tax deductible.

Donating financially, where the funds given are spent 100% to purchase new clothing we cannot obtain used. This includes much needed items such as thermal underwear, socks, gloves, hats, backpacks, etc.

Donating your time to hand out items when we go to serve.  It is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do.

Helping with the once-a-month sorting of the clothing and items. Contact Susan or Claire if you are interested in helping with this to get the date & time, as it varies.

Pray that the ICOR program will continue to be blessed in our work, and that we will be humble servants dedicated to His cause.
