In Sickness and in Health
I am missing almost an entire week from my life. Last week I came down with probably the worst case of the flu I have ever had. It was terribly miserable.
I realize that when someone is sick you have one overriding desire. It's not to share the gospel, feed the hungry, clothe the cold, and even play with your children. When you are sick, you have an overwhelming desire to get better.
I had the privilege of serving, for a few hours, with the Ogden SDA Church as they offered a free medical clinic to the community. Approximately 100 volunteers descended on the community center for two days to provide free dental, vision, medical, and spiritual care. It was impressive to see an army of volunteers (approximately half were SDA) serving their community with such enthusiasm and vigor. It was also a blessing to witness the joy and gratitude of those who were helped. Many of them received spiritual care in addition to physical care. An army of chaplains had volunteered to list and pray with those in need.
I know that I'm thankful to be feeling better. It's also nice to see the body of Christ making the lives of others better too.

ICOR DISTRIBUTION
|
Feb. 13
1 p.m.
Pioneer Park
Here is how you can help: Going through your winter clothes and your seldom used stuff. You can drop it off in the bin marked for ICOR in the coat closet, and donations are tax deductible.
Donating financially, where the funds given are spent 100% to purchase new clothing we cannot obtain used. This includes much needed items such as thermal underwear, socks, gloves, hats, backpacks, etc.
Donating your time to hand out items when we go to serve. It is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do.
Helping with the once-a-month sorting of the clothing and items. Contact Susan or Claire if you are interested in helping with this to get the date & time, as it varies.
Pray that the ICOR program will continue to be blessed in our work, and that we will be humble servants dedicated to His cause.
