I quickly pulled on my shoes, happily put on my light jacket pretending that it was spring, picked up my books and keys, kissed my wife and son goodbye, and then headed for the car.

      The sun was shining and the temperature was in the low 40's with a hint of spring in the air. I was late but I didn't let that dampen my spirits as I enjoyed the first signs that we had survived another Wisconsin winter.

      I walked into the garage and around my car and what I saw caused me to stop in my tracks. Oh no! The driver's door was open. I laid my stuff in the front seat and sat down. As I turned the key in the ignition my fear was confirmed, the car had set all weekend with the door open, draining the battery. The car was dead. It was so dead the solenoid didn't even click. Now what?

      After a few minutes I was able to get Laurella's car close enough to the garage window to run the jumper cable from one car to the other. Finally my car started, and I was off.

      Without power my car was worthless. The same can be said for us. Without power we are worthless. We need to constantly have power.

      The Bible tells us that all power comes from God. We need to be in constant communication with God who is our power, strength and life.

      Jesus is Life!

      John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."
