      Pam's Pause

This is a week of the M&M's: mystery. mishaps. meltdowns. mayhem...and miracles. What can these things possibly have in common? Well, 'tis the final week of the first semester; the week in which our Christmas program takes place; the week of parties, tests, and seemingly endless practices; the week in which everything month-end and calendar-year-end must take place. It is the Week of All Weeks that requires patience, prayer, flexibility, a sense of humor, and perseverance.

In the midst of all this excitement

IN THE MEANTIME....
ICOR (InnerCityOutReach) is really in need of new and used winter clothing, especially for men.  Bring your gently used warm clothing and leave it in the coat closet in the blue bin.
Thank you!

What Kind of World...

As I look at the world around me I can't help but ask, What kind of world do we live in? What kind of world would necessitate someone having a face transplant? What kind of world would see a mother microwaving her child? What kind of world would be full of war? What kind of world would see people die of radiation poisoning? What kind of world is it where natural disasters kill millions of people? What kind of world has dictators? What kind of world allows guards to kill those whom they are supposed to be protecting?

What kind of world leaves a mother with the goal of surviving her terminal disease long enough to see her daughters get married? What kind of world sees one year old children undergoing surgery? What kind of world.... I'll tell you. A sinful world.

There is no question that we see the results of sin every day. It is easy to become accustomed to it and forget this isn't the way things are supposed to be. Let's ask this question. What kind of world does God have in store for us?

Revelation 22:1 "And He showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever."

We know what kind of world we have. We know what kind of world God has in store for us. What kind of world do you want to live in?
