Super Wal-Mart

I have been waiting for months, and finally the day has arrived. Just down the street from my house a Wal-Mart has opened. Not just any Wal-Mart, but a Super Wal-Mart. I like Super Wal-Mart because everything you need is in one store. They have clothes, shoes, books, electronics, toys, automotive supplies, groceries, medications, eye glasses, and the list goes on...

As I drove to the grand opening of the new Wal-Mart, I passed by K-Mart, which had six cars in the parking lot. Then I passed by Shop-Ko which had 10 cars in the parking lot. The difference between Wal-Mart and everybody else is that Wal-Mart has a greater selection and generally lower prices. They supply what most people are looking for and everything you need is under one roof.

As I wandered up and down the shiny new aisles of this amazing store I began to wonder, could our church be like Wal-Mart? What would our church look like if it were a Super Church? Could our church be a one stop shop for sinners? Could our church be a place that filled everyone's spiritual needs?

Imagine a church that filled everyone's need for fellowship. Imagine a church that came together and prayed regularly. Imagine a church that was daily in the word of God? Imagine a church that would welcome sinners into their fellowship. Imagine a church that was full of encouragement, prayer, help, training, bible study, and was a haven from the cares of this world.

Hey, wait! Isn't that what our church is supposed to be? The book of Acts gives us an eye opening picture of what our church could look like. Acts 2:46, "So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."

We are reaching out into our community and lives are being changed. How can we reach out even better?
