As a member of the Live Healthy DeKalb Coalition, DCAC was invited to participate in a feedback session on the draft 2015 DeKalb County Status of Health Report to be released this summer.

The suggestions made to improve the Diabetes section in the Chronic Disease chapter of the report were well received by the DeKalb County Board of Health. Contact information for DCAC will be added to the list of community resources.  To read a copy of the 2010 Report, click here.

National Get Fit Don't Sit Day:  May 6th

DCAC and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) invite you to celebrate National Get Fit Don't Sit Day on Wednesday, May 6th.  Join us at the Capitol where Governor Deal will issue a state proclamation.  For details, call Leslie Potts at 404-320-7100.

ADA recently released a recommendation that everyone, including people with diabetes, limit the amount of time they sit each day.  If you sit for long periods of time at home or at work, get up and move at least every 90 minutes.
