DCAC Partners with Metro Atlanta EMS Personnel
You may know that fire fighters trained as EMTs or Paramedics will provide free blood pressure checks at your local fire station. Did you know that they will also perform a blood sugar (glucose) test? If someone you know is concerned about having high blood sugar, please share this little known service with them.
In an effort to raise awareness about community resources for the uninsured, DCAC is partnering with EMS personnel from both the Grady Health System and the Fulton County Fire and Rescue Department. EMTs and Paramedics are now in a position to provide copies of the Atlanta Metro Health Guide: Resources for the Uninsured to members of the community.
Order free copies of the Health Guide by calling 1-888-720-1337. To download a copy, click here.

HPAC Collaborates with Fulton County
The Diabetes Community Action Coalition (DCAC) along with the Healthy Heart, Asthma, Smoke-Free and the Interfaith Coalitions comprise the Health Promotion Action Coalition (HPAC). The Fulton County Dept. of Health and Wellness has been awarded a 3-year grant to collaborate with HPAC and other community partners to increase the number of Fulton County residents with access to clinical and community services to prevent chronic diseases and their complications. The collaboration will also promote healthy eating, increased physical activity, and smoke-free policies.
