What is Affordable Health Insurance?
Through a provision of the Affordable Care Act, financial help is available through the Health Insurance Marketplace to cover the monthly cost of health insurance and medical expenses during the year to those who are eligible. To qualify, a family's expected household income for 2015 is used. See Income Chart here.
To receive both types of financial help, Fulton and DeKalb county residents can choose from 36 Silver Plans offered by eight companies. Consumers are now able to browse and compare all Health Plans offered on HealthCare.gov by simply entering a zip code. View all Plans now.
Consumers must enroll by December 15th to have coverage that begins on January 1, 2015.

Kudos to the Diabetes Association of Atlanta!

Networking with other attendees was one of the highlights of the Symposium. This aspect of the conference promised many opportunities for collaboration in the future.
PowerPoint presentations of all the speakers may be viewed here. We especially invite DCAC members to review the Everyone with Diabetes Counts PPT presented by Dr. Adrienne Mims.
