Campaign Update
With only six weeks to go in the 2014/2015 United Way Campaign, we are at 65% of our goal of raising $725,000. At last Friday's campaign breakfast we heard lots of exciting company updates, including Steel Dynamics' announcement of their largest pledge total ever - $356,352! Read the full story from KPC here.

As the year winds down, our campaign efforts are still in full force. Many of our long-time supporters are currently seeking pledges and tallying up their results, while several new companies have offered to run campaigns for the first time. We are so excited about the incredible support from the community, and we can't wait to share with you the impact that these campaign dollars will have in DeKalb County.

Because Great Things Happen When We LIVE UNITED.
Volunteer Spotlight

Peggy Tarlton has been volunteering with the United Way of DeKalb County for more than 20 years. She began volunteering while serving as the Chair for the City of Garrett. Peggy made the choice to volunteer for the United Way because she really liked their mission. She enjoyed being able to reach 20 different agencies just by working with the United Way.

Peggy encourages others in DeKalb County to take the next step and get involved. "So much satisfaction comes from participating in the United Way Day of Caring. You get to make other people smile, and that makes me smile," said Peggy. Many different people can be reached through serving with the United Way, from babies to seniors. Peggy encourages anyone interested in volunteering for the United Way to give them a call today!

A message from our agencies...

"The RSVP-Community Center of Caring Food Pantry, for the year ending in July has provided the food to 5,263 families representing 20,268 individuals during that 12 month period of time. This averages out to 439 families each month representing 1,689 individuals each month.

Thanks to the generous support of the United Way of DeKalb County and the RSVP volunteers who serve the clients we are able to serve those in need in our community." - Patti Sheppard, RSVP Director
