            AV Fistula Rates 68% &
Long Term Catheter Rate 10% or less

Network Vascular Access Weekly Update

As part of our work to increase AV Fistula Rates and Reduce Long Term Catheter Rates, we will be sending out resources to assist you in working with your staff and patients to meet the 2014 CMS Vascular Access Goals.

  • Do you patients need more information on Access Options?
  • Are your patients refusing to get a permanent access?
  • Are family members asking you for informaiton on Vascular Access?

We've identified a resource for patient teaching that has recently been updated by the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP).

"Understanding You Hemodialysis Access Options" is a 16-page brochure that outlines various vascular access devices, descriptions of the types of access available for patients, and proper care of each type of access.
