Esta Semana

 Greetings!

November is a month that promotes gratitude, and kicks off a season of giving. For many of us on Thursday, we'll be fortunate enough to enjoy a meal surrounded by family and friends and counting our blessings. For us at the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, we are thankful for your, our members.

The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber is a membership organization. As a team, we work to bring you programs and events that will help you grow and promote your business. We listen to your concerns, so we can advocate on your behalf. We seek out partnerships and collaborations that will enable you to increase your network and develop new business relationships. We are passionate about what we do because we live by the motto "Your Success is Our Success." We want to thank you for your membership, for your engagement, and for your business.

In the midst of all the Black Friday events, don't forget Small Business Saturday coming up on November 30th. Many of the small businesses in the region have one of a kind items and services that would make wonderful gifts. Spend some time in our Membership Directory and make a point of shopping at Chamber businesses this holiday season!

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013, it is the Second Annual Giving Tuesday. This is a national event asking us all to contribute to making a difference in our community by giving our time, our voice, and our commitment to making giving a priority in our lives. We hope you include us in your giving on this day. You can join a committee to volunteer for an event or program, you can help advocate for small businesses or you can contribute to the Mayor Joe Serna, Jr. Scholarship Fund. Every dollar donated to the fund goes to provide scholarships for students to continue their educational and vocational endeavors. Through the generous donations of our members, we are proud to have awarded $33,000 this past year to deserving students. However, you choose to participate in Giving Tuesday, you can make a difference!

In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, we will be closed Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th. We wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Featured Member of the Week: SpanishOne Translations

Monica Nainsztein Rodrguez started teaching English as a Second Language at 15 years old while studying abroad in Argentina. Languages and cultural identity have always had Monica's attention, and she is a sponge for language, even picking up words that native speakers could go a lifetime without learning. As Owner and President of SpanishOne Translations, she can put her love of language to work daily.

SpanishOne Translations was formed in 2008 as a boutique Spanish translation company, and only 35 days before the recession was announced. Her knowledge and passion for language would help guide her company grow through the economic downturns. What was born a boutique Spanish translation agency in 2008, has transformed into a specialized translation in more than 100 languages from around the world. She has client on a local, national and worldwide level, and collaborated with over 3,000 vendors to ensure successful translation in over 100 languages.

Her goals are coming to fruition and growing all the time. Translations services have grown 70% in one year. The need and desire to influence the Hispanic Market is great than before, and Monica is adapting to the need. She works with small businesses to Government entities, Public Relations and Public Affairs, Health and Human Services, Educational institutions and even the preferred translator for the Governor's office.

"We are quality driven company, and we don't use automatic translators. We use translations tools with human translators that care about the outcome and know about cultural nuances."

Monica has played an active role as member of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a member since 2001. In 2010 she was named "Business Woman of the Year" and kept on pace to ensure her business grows. This year, SpanishOne Translations will launch the Affinity Program giving SHCC members a 10% discount on Spanish translations services. This is a tremendous discount that helps companies expand their products to the Hispanic market. With her new e-book, "Trillion Dollar Culture" (link), her fluency in 5 languages and innate passion for Hispanic culture, Monica can help your company gain exposure into Spanish speaking community.
