Senator Detert leads through tax elimination Thanks to the leadership of Sen. Nancy Detert, chair of the Senate Commerce and Tourism Committee, the committee voted unanimously to eliminate the sales tax charged manufacturers on their equipment, a priority on the EDC's Legislative Agenda. The tax puts Florida manufacturers at a disadvantage and makes it harder to attract new manufacturing firms to the state. It now heads to the Senate Finance and Tax Committee.
