|Florida. The Perfect Climate for Business|
Enterprise Florida and Governor Rick Scott unveiled the state's first-ever business brand this month, "Florida. The Perfect Climate for Business." More than just a logo or a tagline, the Florida business brand provides a common thread that will allow all of the state's economic development organizations to work together in showcasing Florida as a premier business destination. If you haven't already seen it, take a look.
|FPL Launches the PoweringFlorida™ Resource Center Florida Power & Light launched a new website earlier this month offering a comprehensive analysis tool for local economic development organizations. In addition to providing great detail about the companies already in an area, the site allows EDO's to analyze competitiveness against industry specific criteria, establish strengths and weaknesses for target industry sectors and generate real lists (from 18 million companies worldwide) for recruitment. A reflection of FPL's continued commitment to economic development in our state, we are glad to provide access to this information.

|Regional IT Workforce Initiative |
As with the Manufacturer's Skill Gap Study, the EDC was involved with the Regional IT Workforce Study which similarly looked at the ability of IT firms to fill their current and future openings. The results of that study have been released and Guy Hagen, Vice President of Digital Strategy and Research at Tucker Hall, will be here March 12 to discuss the results, the impact on local firms and possible solutions our region could undertake to narrow that gap.
