The EDC Celebrates Business Expansions Recently, the following local companies, whose expansion was assisted by the EDC, celebrated the Grand Openings of their new facilities: Aso, LLC, Global Organics, and Health Management Associates. The photo below was taken at the grand opening of Health Management Associates' newly expanded Regional Service Center located off of Fruitville Road in Sarasota. 217 new jobs are planned for this facility.

EDC's Local GrowFL Program Continues to See Results The EDC's GrowFL program assists growth companies through strategic research, Peer Mentoring and CEO Forums. Two of the participating companies were recognized by Governor Scott as Innovators Under Forty in 2012. The companies, Datum and Voalte, each added over 30 jobs in 2011.
The EDC has achieved a Level 1 Program Certification from the National Center for Economic Gardening (NCEG). The EDC is an Entrepreneurial Support Organization for GrowFL, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at the University of Central Florida.
