Torn earlobes are more common than one may think and many women are unaware that something can be done for them. An earlobe piercing may be stretched or torn due to heavy earring use, large loop earrings, or trauma.
Repair of a torn earlobe is fairly straightforward and can be done in the office under local anesthesia. The earlobe is re-pierced 6-8 weeks after the repair and studs are placed for 3 weeks.
Earlobes can also show your age as they lose collagen, become thinner and longer, and may sag over time. Earlobe reduction may be performed to reduce the size of the earlobe and filler injection may be needed to plump the earlobe.
