Building Spring Enrollment
Thanks to each of you who continue to work to assist our autumn 2014 students with spring 2015 registration.  As of November 25, 2014, 52 percent of the autumn 2014 students - 1,821 - were registered for spring semester.  Kudos to Bill Finnearty and the Fitness Management program for coming in first place at the college by re-enrolling 84 percent of their autumn semester students for spring semester! Each conversation and interaction with our students, not just with faculty, but also with staff and administration, helps to encourage our student population to continue their education at Hocking College. Remember - we are all college ambassadors!

The college has almost reached the goal of 1,150 applications for spring semester. Although our spring applicant numbers are trending high, we have not yet met our enrollment targets. Lists of applicants for spring semester have recently been sent to deans. If requested, please help us in contacting these spring applicants. Many students note that calls from departments and/or instructors are very meaningful in encouraging enrollment.

For the most part, students are understanding and following the new registration process. Within three business days of registering, students are required to visit the Cashier's Office in the Student Services Concourse in Light Hall or at the Perry or Logan Campus to sign the Registration Terms & Conditions/Student Financial Responsibility Agreement and review their financial arrangements. Students who fail to do this within three business days will have their schedule dropped, and will need to begin the registration process again.

Additionally, if a student takes only online classes, or has extenuating circumstances as to why they cannot visit the Cashier's Office in three business days, they can contact them directly at cashiers@hocking.edu. The student will be sent an electronic copy of the form with the appropriate information, and have a telephone conversation regarding their financial responsibility and payment arrangements.

A traditional turkey dinner and festive desserts provided by various groups from on and off campus will be provided and Santa will make an appearance.

Light Hall Roof Replacement Update
The Light Hall roof replacement project is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 8, and is expected to last until February 11, 2015.

Due to the nature of the construction project, the third floor classrooms and offices may experience loud noises at various times during the project. Please contact the Registrar's Office if you would like to temporarily relocate your classroom at any time during the construction period.

If your office is on the third floor, please be aware that dust accumulation is highly likely. It is recommended that you protect any personal items in your office or take them home for the duration of the project.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are available to assist as needed.

Kudos Korner

Kudos to Our Nursing Students

Kudos to Hocking College Nursing students for their work to bring awareness to Alzheimer's Disease.

November is National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month, and the awesome nursing students put together a great display in Davidson Hall on the disease.

They had
a table full of information, facts about Alzheimer's suspended from balloons and a board to post the names of those suffering from or those lost to Alzheimer's.

Great job!
