This spring, SMC Energy Watch and the New Buildings Institute will be offering two trainings for schools to learn how to make their facilities generate as much energy as they consume with on-site clean energy sources.

What You'll Learn: This three-hour workshop delves into the benefits and value of Zero Energy K-12 schools, their costs and saving, and strategies to achieving successful Zero Energy projects including financing, planning, design, construction and operations.

What You'll Learn: This full-day workshop covers the technical and operational details of zero energy schools. The session will examine real-world case studies of technologies and practices that have achieved superior energy performance and substantial cost savings and will discuss how Prop. 39 funds can help finance Zero Energy retrofits.
