HOLY OAKS!
We may not know whether a tree that falls in a forest with no one present makes a sound, but when a large limb falls at St. Paul's, Dr. Paul Klemme will hear it.
When a large fallen limb was discovered last Friday, Paul immediately alerted me and insisted that we contact Gary Brandt, "The Fixer." Within moments, Gary was on the scene and enlisted the assistance of fellow Woodcutters, Roy Colescott and Dave Trietsch. By the blessings and grace of their work, the limb was cut and we it all cleared in two hours. Thank you, for, once again, answering the call! the spirit of St. Paul's shines brightly!!

SUSPENSION OF MEDITATIVE
PRAYER CIRCLE MEETINGS
For the past 10 months St. Paul's has had a Meditative Prayer Circle meeting weekly on Tuesday evenings. This group was started at the initiative of Fr. Lin Knight and myself with the purpose of providing an opportunity for an experience of group contemplative prayer for those in the parish who might be drawn to that ancient tradition of prayer and spiritual transformation in the Christian tradition. During the passage of time since I have remained as facilitator of the group. Over time the numbers of participants has lessened somewhat but a faithful core group has continued to come. Most recently an important change has happened in my life. My daughter has given birth to twins adding to the four year old child that she and her husband already have. To help in this "quantum leap" for this young family my wife and I have been assisting many hours with grandparenting duties of child care and meal preparation. This has begun to conflict with my duties as facilitator of our prayer circle, necessitating a need to suspend our group meetings for the present time. When circumstances change, we will discern whether there is sufficient interest to re-start this parish resource.

EPISCOPAL 101
Mother Anne will be leading a series of classes about the Episcopal Church beginning the Sunday after Easter for six weeks. Any adult considering being confirmed by the Bishop on Pentecost, or being received into the church, will want to attend. (Youth confirmation classes will be held on Sunday evenings). These classes will also be of interest to Episcopalians who have wondered about our history, theology, tradition, and why we do what we do on Sunday. Meetings will be between the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services, and on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. All are welcome!
SPY CONFIRMATION CLASS
When we are baptized, we are reborn in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We are stones in the foundation of faith, living members of the church, and part of the body of Christ. In the next months, the youth will meet to challenge themselves to know the baptismal vows made on their behalf and confirm that, yes, they do believe and do promise to walk in a life of Christ. They will explore what it means to be a child of God, a Christian, and an Episcopalian. Let us together make room in our daily prayers for the youth that they continue to be strengthened and renewed by the Holy Spirit, and as living stones together, they build a dwelling place for God. The group (SPY 9th-12th grades) will meet weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Confirmation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Pentecost Sunday, May 24th. For more information please contact Amy Goerger ([email protected]/503-508-1943).
