Preventive Screening Coverage

Help your members make the most of their preventive health benefits. Here are some tips:

QualChoice follows the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) suggested list of services to be offered at no cost in a "wellness exam."
Doctors may do tests during a wellness exam that are not part of this list --- things such as urinalysis, complete blood count, or vitamin D screening. If a doctor orders these or other tests not suggested by the USPSTF as part of a wellness exam, the member may have to pay the bill.
A doctor may have other reasons for doing tests not suggested for the wellness exam. In this case QualChoice covers them the same way as any other medically necessary tests (to find or treat an illness, injury, or health problem).

Reminder: Premium Payments Due On or Before the 1st of Every Month

One simple way to keep costs in check is to remit premium payments on time. Late payments unnecessarily risk termination of coverage and a $250 reinstatement charge. In order to assure continuation of coverage each month, your payments must be received on or before the first day of the month.
