On February 2nd this year, Cardiff RSL was awash with frangipanis, loud Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts.
Sixty two people (including 16 children) came along to the Hawaiian Luau night to benefit the orphanages supported by ACC. There was lots of eating, drinking and dancing, as well as a game of 'Pass the coconut' for the smaller guests, with all children displaying wonderful sportsmanship (and enjoying their chocolate consolation prizes!).
All up we raised $1294.09 on the night.
A huge round of applause to everyone that came along and supported the event. Special thanks to Steve and Pat Stacey for donating their $200 'lucky hundred' prize money back to ACC; also thanks to Marianela O'Brien (Intercountry adoptee, Nicaragua), Kerri Ford, and Fran and Neil Miller, for helping to set up and pack away. Thank you to Ben Pitham (Port Hunter Cranes) for sponsoring the cost of the helium tanks for the balloons.
