National Nurses Week is May 6 -12. National Nurses Week is celebrated to raise public awareness of the value of nursing and to help educate the public about the vital role nurses play in meeting the health care needs of the communities they serve.
I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank the nursing staff at Carson Health. Providing our patients with your knowledge, compassion, and care is something we pride ourselves in.

Rehabilitation Now in Ithaca
In an effort to provide area residents with home town care, Carson Health opened a satellite office in Ithaca on May 6. Carson Health Rehabilitation will be located inside the Ithaca Family Care Center at 114 N. Main St., Ithaca.
Patients will be able to receive the same outstanding care in Ithaca as available at the Carson Rehabilitation Center for neurological/stroke care and much more," remarked Monte Shearer, Manager and Physical Therapist. "This location will allow us to provide accessible services to patients in the surrounding area."
The rehabilitation center will be open Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. To schedule your appointment please call (989) 449-4070. Most insurances accepted.

Wellness Run-for-Fun
Carson Health was happy to be a sponsor of the Wellness Run-for-Fun Event. Carson Health staff members participated and helped show kids that exercise is important and you can have fun doing it.

Volunteers Attended Appreciation Luncheon
Carson Health hosted an appreciation luncheon for its Volunteers Thursday, April 25 at the United Methodist Church. They enjoyed a lunch catered by Mary Jo Halfman Catering Service.
During the luncheon, Volunteer Services Coordinator, Shelly Weaver emphasized "Carson Health couldn't function without you!" Volunteers were recognized for the countless hours of dedicated service they have given to Carson Health over the years.
Matt spoke to the volunteers about the current strategic plan and shared the recent awards Carson Health has received including "101 Best Places to Work For", receiving an "A" grade for Patient Safety, and being rated number 1 for Patient Experience in Michigan. "Volunteers are an irreplaceable piece of our team and crucial to our success" stated Matt Thompson, President and CEO of Carson Health.
