It involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. Dr. Poff will move your muscles and joints using stretching and gentle pressure and resistance techniques.

Convenience for Patients with I-Remind

Family Practices at Carson Health are utilizing a system called i-remind. This automated appointment reminder system calls patients as a courtesy, to remind them of their appointment time. It may also direct them to arrive early if they need to complete paperwork or to fast if necessary for lab tests. Click here to read more about this system.

Patient Access: Our Goodwill Ambassadors
At one point or another, every department at Carson Health comes in contact with the public. With that contact comes the opportunity to present a positive image to our community. The Patient Access Department is most often responsible for providing patients and visitors with their first impression of our hospital.

"We work very hard on providing excellent customer service and assisting patients and families through their healthcare stay," says Director of Organizational Access, Davina Davidson. "Patients and families coming into our hospital are often in a stressful situation. Our job is to ease their concerns in a caring and efficient manner."

In an average day, the Patient Access Department handles a variety of requests from physicians, nurses and patients. Physicians call to schedule patients for services and nurses inform Patient Access of any patient transfers. The staff must also be familiar with the procedures and guidelines of various insurance companies.

To celebrate National Healthcare Access Personnel Week, held April 1-7, each employee in Patient Access received a mug filled with goodies. The department also held a baby photo contest. The winner received a tote bag.

We acknowledge our special goodwill ambassadors of our Patient Access Department for initiating the caring spirit that exists among all our hospital staff.
