Pal Craftaid supports the Melia Shop in its goal to increase the sales of its fairly traded products in the United States, Europe and the Gulf States.

We are asking 3,000 individuals -- who value women's economic lives -- to give $10 each to help the Melia Shop increase its sales so that these talented artisans may buy food, medicine and school supplies for their families - and broaden the reach of this business. Approximately $30,000 will cover the costs of securing a part-time design consultant at $15,000 for one year and to ramp up funds for a part-time marketing expertise, who will cost about $18,000.

Marketing support will enable these artisans to sell their goods abroad, rather than be limited to a tourist economy. With ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, tourist traffic often slows. Without tourist sales, the products do not sell and these women are often the financial heads of households.
