"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." - Luke 2:52.

That's what we want our children to do too, don't we?  Grow in wisdom.  Grow up in stature.  Have a good relationship with God and with other people.  The getting bigger physically is usually no problem-many of them are taller than me by the time they leave for the youth floor!  (I can hear some of you snicker, since that's not really saying much!)  But, more than anything, we want our children to gain wisdom and have good relationships.  We want their faith in a big God to be a big faith!  That's what we work on in the Treehouse from the time children come to us until they leave, excited to tackle the great big middle school world.  That's what parents work on as they teach and guide and model good behavior and good relationships.  That's why Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and Mission Possible Kids and Art and Music are a part of what we do at Noel.  We share Bible stories and celebrate God's beautiful creations.  We pray for and work in service for others.  We study and play in small groups, meeting new people and learning to love those who are new and different from us.

This summer, there are opportunities for our children to grow - in wisdom, in stature, in relationships, and in faith.  Go to www.noelumc.org/summer to find out more.

Noel Neighborhood Ministry News

Purple Bag Update!

If you've given a purple bag filled with food-even just one time-you have made a difference at our Food Pantry.  This past month more than 80 bags were donated!  Thank you Noel, for always giving with wide open hearts.

Special Summer Collection

In honor of our long-time Noel Neighborhood Ministry volunteer, Mr. John Carpenter celebrating his 100th birthday September 18, Noel's Food Pantry will give out one cake mix and can of icing to each family that we serve during the month of September.

On average during this month, we would expect to hand out over 800 bags so your generosity of cake mixes and icing along with the regularly listed items is so appreciated. These items will be continually collected for the next 3 months so we will have enough. A flyer and/or sticker will be placed on each cake mix explaining why they are receiving this gift along with a brief history of Mr. Carpenter's service to our Food Pantry and the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank. Thank you for celebrating with us!
