Wild Phlox Trail
Just Think Outside
...the place for creativity
Welcome

I love the transition from summer into fall.

The leaves gradually changing from green into a multitude of colors, the cool nights and the crunch of fallen leaves while hiking the mountain trails.

Below are favorite images from past transitions and next month I'll share images from 2015.

Take care,
Jeffrey

From Summer Into Fall

I made this image on a beautiful autumn morning on the top of Bays Mountain in northeast Tennessee.

In this image made near the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina there are late summer wildflowers along the fence line and leaves changing to their fall colors which beautifully blends the two seasons.

John Cable moved to Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains, in 1865 from Carter County in eastern Tennessee.   He built this mill in 1868 at the junction of Forge and Mill Creeks.

John was the nephew of Peter Cable who was one of the earliest land owners in Cades Cove (he purchased land in 1825) and was a founder of the Cove's Primitive Baptist Church.

Tripod and camera at the ready I waited for the sun to begin to rise over farm and field on this crisp October morning.

In the quiet of an early morning, the sun is beginning to highlight the fall leaves of the white birch forest.
