As you can see from the above NEW BYC hot yoga timetable, starting 2nd of January 2017 we not only have new classes, but we will no longer have PEAK & OFF PEAK classes.
The OFF PEAK Autopay will no longer be available for purchase. We will of course be honouring those already on this contract. These contracts however, will still only be valid at the original OFF PEAK times: 10am, 12pm, 3pm Mon-Fri & the 9am, 11am, 3pm & 5pm on Saturday. The New Saturday Yin, Wednesday restore & Renew and Thursday Yoga Nidra will not be available on this Autopay.
If your OFF PEAK contract is up for renewal in January, we are offering the 12 Month Autopay at a discounted price of �89/month and it is valid at every class on our schedule. Thats an extra 22 classes a week available to you for only �20 more a month! If you would like to switch your contacts over now from the OFF PEAK Autopay to the 12 Month Autopay (even if they are not up for renewal) please ask at a BYC reception before the offer ends on 31/01/16.
This also means that we will know longer have a PEAK & OFF PEAK Introductory offer. For any of you bring friends, loved ones, work colleagues to experience the benefits of BYC hot yoga this January: our Introductory offer is �60 for 30 consecutive days of yoga valid at ALL class on our schedule.

NEW for January
Yin Yoga!
This January we are introducing a brand new yoga class to BYC hot yoga!
Every Saturday
1pm-2:15pm.
(except Saturday 21st Jan when we are running a happy hips workshop)
We apologise however, the planned Wednesday morning Yin yoga class will not be going ahead at this time. Therefore, the Wednesday 6.30am will continue as a hot yoga class. If you love it as much as we do, we are hoping to add a few more Yin classes to our schedule. So, keep your eyes peeled.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a slow more mediative style of yoga done mainly on the floor. Postures are held for several minutes at a time, so practitioners can access deeper tissues, such as the connective tissue and the fascia. Many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine). By holding the postures for an extended period of time practitioners gain:
- Calming and balancing to the mind and body
- Regulates energy in the body
- Increases mobility in the body, especially the joints and hips
- Lowering of stress levels
- Greater stamina
- Better lubrication and protection of joints
- More flexibility in joints & connective tissue
- Release of fascia throughout the body

- A great coping for anxiety and stress
- Better ability to sit for meditation
- help with your Bikram hot yoga practise.

What you will need:
-Mat
-Towel
-Water
-Loose clothing
-This class will not be heated, although our room does hold a degree of heat. Warmer clothing or layers are advised.
-Blocks are provided by BYC hot yoga
Price: Regular BYC pricing applies.
i.e. This class is included in all month unlimited packages, including Introductory offers and can be used as against your 10 class card.
If you wish to do a Drop In it is �15.
Booking & Cancellation Policy:
To guarantee your spot you can book online in advance.
If you book in and do not turn up, or fail to remove yourself from class prior to 12hrs before, you will be charged �15 for the class.
Yin Yoga Drop Ins are purchasable online or in studio.
There is a 12 hr late cancellation policy.
If you cancel anytime prior to 12hrs before the start of class, the �15 drop in fee will be credited to your account, if you email bikramyogachiswick@me.com to inform us. However, if you cancel any time from 12hrs before the start of class you will be charged for the class.

Yoga Nidra Make time to relax!
Ben's January Yoga Nidra:
Sunday 8th January 1-1:45pm
Helen's Yoga Nidra: added as a permanent addition to our schedule every Thursday 4:45-5:30pm.
Ben's Yoga Nidra: Restore & Renew - A completely unique style of Yoga Nidra created by our teacher Ben Wolff, combining Yin postures and guided mediation, to regenerate, rejuvenate and relax. Every Wednesday 1:45-2:30pm.
What you will need:
- Yourself.
- A block (this is an optional addition for comfort)
- Mats (we provide these free of charge)
- Comfortable clothing
If you are practising a BYC hot yoga class before the Nidra, you will want to bring a change of clothes to wear for your Nidra class.
What you will be doing:
Yoga Nidra is a guided mediation, so lie back and let Helen & Ben guide you to relaxation.
How long:
Each Yoga Nidra class will last for 45 minutes.
Price: �10 Drop In
Yoga Nidra is included in all memberships, except the 10 class card.
If you are on one of these memberships and wish to book your spot please do so either at BYC reception or over the phone.
Cancellation Policy:
There is a 12 hr late cancellation policy. If you cancel anytime prior to 12hrs before the start of class, the �10 drop in fee will be credited to your account if you email bikramyogachiswick@me.com to inform us.
If you cancel within 12hrs before the start of class you will be charged for the class.

Happy Hips Workshop!
Hip Opening Workshop with
Laura McDonald Saturday 21st Of January.
This January our amazing teacher Laura McDonald will be running another workshop. This time she is after your hips!

Time: 12:45pm-2:15pm

About the workshop:
Did you know that there are over 20 muscles involved in the moving of the hips and they stretch from the lumbar spine right down to the knees? These muscles carry a great responsibility as we use them for sitting, walking, running and jumping. Releasing hip muscles can do wonders for both back and knee pain and can also bring huge emotional release because we hold so much tension there.
In this workshop we will look at the many different ways in which we can move the hips in our yoga practice and discover postures that you can practice any time you have a spare moment, for example at home, before or after class. They will benefit your Bikram practice and should leave you feeling relaxed and calm. Suitable for all levels
Who can attend this workshop:
This workshop is suitable for everyone.
It doesn't matter whether you are a Bendy Wendy or stiff like the Tin Man.
You do not need to be a BYC member. However, if you are new to the studio, please do arrive 15 minutes or so before the Workshop so that we can register you.
Should I do class first?
Laura will be teaching the 11am on the day of the posture clinic. It is not necessary to do a class before the workshop, however, you might find you are more warmed up and ready for the clinic if you do.
Cancellation Policy:
If you need to cancel out of the workshop and do so any time prior to 24hrs before the event, please email the studio at bikramyogachiswick@me.com and the �20 will be credited to your account. If you late cancel under 24hrs prior to class you will be charged in full.

Posture Clinic
Sit Up
The Bikram sit up is here to help tone that abdomen and to give you energy... So what are we waiting for!
Remember if you are working with any back injuries, please avoid the sit up. Simply roll onto your side, and using your hand push yourself up, however please join in for the double exhale.
1 - Always move with your teachers words, never before, never after. This goes for every posture of the series. Learn to move only with the words and everything changes! 2 - Lie on the floor, make sure your feet are together from toe to heel.3 - Flex your feet, keeping the heels on the floor.4 - Move your arms over the head, cross you thumbs.5 - Engage your core, you want to feel like you are pulling your belly button into your abdomen and your lower back is flat on the floor, not arched. 6 - Inhale breathing, through your nose, sit up, core engaged, arms with your head, sit up and forward reaching for your toes.7 - Grab your big toe with your fingers and thumb. Exhale once, making a ccchhhh sounds.8 - Second cchhh exhale touch your forehead to the knees, elbows to the floor.9 - The point of this double exhale is to try to empty your lungs. Obviously, we will never 100% empty our lungs, but lets get as close as we can!
10 - Remember to keep your core engaged for the entire sequence.
11 - Turn around & lay on your stomach we are about to become Cobras (only with a lot more sweat!)
