ARMY'S ARMY HAPPENINGS

Rogue Rollergirls Battle It Out & Raise Funds For The Army’s Army

alt Rogue Rollergirls

On Saturday May 4th, the Rogue Rollergirls went head to head with the Kill Devil Hills Derby Brigade in a bout geared towards supporting our military and raising funds for The Army’s Army.

A portion of the ticket sales from the event went to support our mission of “watching over those who watch over us.”

We would like to thank the Rogue Rollergirls and everyone that came out to the event for their support .

The Army’s Army Teams Up With The Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau And Cross Creek Mall To Host Mother’s Day Arts & Crafts Event

Mother's Day Crafts

This past Mother’s Day, the Army’s Army joined forces with Cross Creek Mall and Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to host a picture frame-making event for local military kids.

Attendees not only got to enjoy the mall’s new play area but were able to take time out and enjoy a little arts and crafts for a worthy cause.

Ride To Honor A Huge Success!

alt Ride To Honor 2013

On May 18th, the Army’s Army teamed up with Cross Creek Cycling Club to host the 2nd annual Ride To Honor, a 34 and/or 61 mile bicycle ride to raise money for and help further our mission of supporting soldiers, veterans and their families.

Sponsored by the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and Food Lion, Ride To Honor is part of Fayetteville’s 31 Day Salute, a month-long celebration of performances, exhibits and activities throughout Cumberland County that show appreciation, respect and support for those who serve and have served in the armed forces.

This year we were honored to have three special guests ride; triple amputee John Masson, MSG (Ret.) United States Army, Patty Collins, LTC (ret) US Army and Jason Kimbal, SSG (ret) US Army, both with the US Paralympics Cycling Team.

We would also like to thank all of our partners and volunteers who came out to support our event this year!

Thanks again to everyone who came out to show their support for the military by eating at Sonic on May 6th and 20th. A portion of the proceeds from those evenings were donated to the Army's Army to help further our mission of supporting soldiers, veterans and their families.

If you weren't able to make it last time, you'll have another opportunity on June 3rd and 17th.

Mellow Mushroom Joins The Army’s Army

The Army’s Army would like to extend a special welcome to our newest partner Mellow Mushroom.

On May 20th, we teamed up with the restaurant for our first fundraiser, presented as part of Mellow Mushroom's Give Back program. A portion of the proceeds from that day were donated to the Army’s Army.

Over the next year, The Army’s Army will be partnering with Mellow Mushroom each month. If you missed the last one, you’ll have another chance to join us on June 17th.

The Army’s Army Flag Placing Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

alt Rogue Rollergirls

On Friday, May 24th, as part of Cumberland County’s 31 Day Salute, The Army’s Army and many of our volunteers worked with thirteen cemeteries in and around Cumberland County and placed over 2,000 flags in honor of our fallen heroes for Memorial Day.

This year, we were thrilled to have so many members come out and volunteer their time in support of this special tradition, and would like to thank everyone who participated.
