ARMY'S ARMY HAPPENINGS
VALENTINE'S DAY TRIBUTE TO
OUR HEROES

On Thursday, February 14th, The Army's Army partnered with the
Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) and Lamar
Advertising for a nationwide Valentine's Day Twitter salute to
our soldiers and veterans. For 24 hours straight we encouraged
people to join in on an unprecedented show of support to honor
our troops by using the hashtag #Tweets4Troops. For every
#Tweets4Troops tweet posted that day, the FACVB donated $1 to
support The Army's Army. The tweets were also displayed live
throughout the day on digital billboards located in Cumberland
County.

This month we would like to recognize John Meroski, who is not only one
of our biggest supporters, but a Co-Founder and current board member of The
Army's Army. A native of New England and a graduate of Roger Williams
University in Bristol, RI, he earned degrees in marketing and psychology.
He holds his masters in business administration through the University of
Phoenix.
For the last 12 years, Mr. Meroski has served as CEO of the Fayetteville
Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) offices in Fayetteville.
Under his direction, the bureau has undergone a complete reorganization and
restructuring. As a result, the FACVB was named a "Shining Example" by the
Southeast Tourism Society and given the designation of "CVB of the
Year."
Currently, the FACVB is retooling its marketing products to be more inclusive of the Fort Bragg Communities that comprise Cumberland County in an effort to provide exceptional visitor experiences.
Prior to joining the FACVB, Mr. Meroski ran the Greater Bakersfield, CA
Convention and Visitors Bureau. During his tenure there, the CVB was able
to double its budget, create record levels of trackable tourism traffic,
increase marketing revenues and support the construction of an 11,000-seat
arena. Mr. Meroski has also held positions at the Greenville, SC Convention
and Visitors Bureau and the Providence, Rhode Island CVB.
In his free time, he enjoys spiritual growth, reading, community
involvement, exercise, movies and dining out.
