Soldiers Say Thanks For Feasting At Fazoli's

Fazoli's Event

We would like to thank everyone who came out on Friday, March 23rd and ate at Fazoli's to show their support for the military. Fazoli's donated a portion of the proceeds from that day to the Army's Army to help further our mission of supporting soldiers, veterans and their families. Fazoli's and the Army's Army will be doing this once a month, so if you missed this one, stay tuned for the next one in April.

Master Michael Brown

This month, we would like to recognize Master Michael Brown, owner of the ATA Martial Arts Black Belt Academy in Fayetteville. Master Brown has partnered with the Army's Army on several events, including the 2010 Hometown Heroes Regional Martial Arts Tournament, which raised money for the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Most recently, Master Brown and the ATA partnered with the Army's Army to host "Special Friends Ops," a self-defense camp for children of fallen soldiers. "The Special Friends Ops camp was a life changing day for me. I will be actively looking for more ways to give back to our fallen soldiers by working with and reaching out to these kids," Brown commented.

Master Michael Brown, along with his wife, Master Kimberly Brown, are the owners of two ATA Martial Arts Academies in Fayetteville - one on Sycamore Dairy Road and the other on Ramsey Street. Master Brown is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, as well as a certified instructor in the Israeli art of Krav Maga and two-time World Champion in age-group fighting.

After graduating from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Brown enlisted in the U.S. Marines, where he was selected for officer training and received a commission. In 1993, Brown started his first Taekwondo business in North Carolina, where he and his family still reside today.

When they're not teaching class, traveling to competitions and hosting events to support the military, Master Brown and his family are very active in their church.
