MWR STILL NEEDS VOLUNTEERS TO HELP DISTRIBUTE TREES FOR TROOPS DECEMBER 10TH

Dear Army's Army members -

We are still searching for 4 more volunteers, beginning at 10:30 a.m., to help unload and load the Christmas trees onto vehicles. The volunteers will be assisting soldiers and their families helping to get the trees onto their vehicles and secure them. This event will conclude by 6 p.m., and volunteers will be released at that time.

For the fifth consecutive year, as part of FMWR’s Trees For Troops event, tree growers and retailers nationwide have donated Christmas trees to be distributed to active duty soldiers and their families. FMWR is hosting this year’s Trees For Troops event on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at the Fort Bragg Fairgrounds.

Beginning at 1 p.m., FMWR will start distributing 750 live trees to E-6 and below.
After 3 p.m., the remaining trees will be given to military of all ranks.
Eligible families need to come prepared to take their tree with them immediately, since no trees will be held for later pick-up.

We will most likely have parking passes for staff/volunteers, and I’ll let you know where and how to obtain them once I have received that information.

If you are interested in helping out with this event, please email me at: jlwest@armysarmy.com or call 910-709-9671.

Thank you all for your continued support!
