MWR NEEDS VOLUNTEERS AT THE UPCOMING VOLKSMARCH
Hello Volunteers,
MWR is hosting its annual Volksmarch on October 17,2009 at Smith Lake in Fayetteville NC. Voksmarch is a German walk to get geared up for Oktoberfest. They need three volunteers to help pass out “mugs” at the Start/Finish line of the 10k walk.
The Army’s Army will have a table at “Registration” where volunteers will need to meet at 8:00 am. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call me at 910.709.9671
Directions:
From the North come through Spring Lake. Head southeast on N Bragg Blvd/NC-24 toward N 2nd St. In 1.3 mi, turn left at Ashley St/NC-210/NC-87 144 ft, slight Right at Murchison Rd/NC-210/NC-87 1.5 mi, cross over Honeycutt stay on Hwy 210 for about a mile & the entrance to Smith Lake will be on your left. Follow that road until you come to a little gate with a guard shack, Parking will be on your left. Start line will be in Pavilion adjacent to the parking lot.
From the South once in Fayetteville take Hwy 401 to Murchison road. Turn North onto Murchison St. Smith Lake entrance will be on right. Follow that road till you come to a little gate with a guard shack, Parking will be on your Left. Start line will be in Pavilion adjacent to the parking lot.
From I-40S to I-95S toward Fayetteville/Benson, Take exit 58 for Fayetteville Outer Loop/295 toward US-401 ( 0.6 mi), Merge onto Fayetteville Outer Loop 6.7 mi, Slight left at Ramsey St/US-401 (3.4 mi), Turn right at Country Club Dr 2.3 mi 10, Turn right at Murchison Rd about 3-4 miles down on the right you will see the entrance to Smith Lake. Follow that road until you come to a little gate with a guard shack, Parking will be on your left. Start line will be in Pavilion adjacent to the parking lot.
