LET'S WELCOME THE NEW DIRECTOR OF THE ARMY'S ARMY: STACY STRAUSS
Hello fellow Army’s Army volunteers and members!
I am delighted to come on board as the new Director of the Army’s Army, to accomplish many wonderful things for the good of our community. You may recognize my name from a previous e-newsletter, as a featured enlistee. I was a volunteer on the Blog Committee since March, helped out on 4th of July passing out GI Joes, and soon thereafter, was given the great opportunity to follow in Lesley’s footsteps.
A little background about myself; I recently moved to Fayetteville from northern Virginia, roughly 9 months ago, and instantly fell in love with it. My boyfriend is in the 82nd ABN, currently deployed in Afghanistan, and I’ve been heavily involved with the military ever since I set foot in North Carolina. I completely immersed myself in the community by participating in a number of organizations such as; the Certified Tourism Ambassador Program, Ambassador of the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of Fayetteville Young Professional’s, just to name a few. I have a strong passion for helping our military and their beloved families, especially during this time of transition due to the BRAC movement. I look forward to working with all of you and seeing you participate in all of our events! Furthermore, be on the lookout for upcoming volunteer events and opportunities to recruit new volunteers to the Army’s Army. Assistant Director, Diane Dean will be corresponding with all volunteers on these opportunities.
After all, we are all a part of positively impacting this community and making an everlasting effort to reach out to these military families moving to our home and making Fayetteville/Cumberland County, their own.
