Volunteers and staff at Spirals want to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support and friendship. We work hard to offer a shop that is a positive reflection of the Alliance on Aging; a store in which to sell, shop, create community, a pleasant place to hang-out and meet friends. Without your help and patronage, we would not have been named Best Consignment Store of 2015 by the readers of the Monterey Herald. Stop by so we can thank you in person for supporting Spirals and the services of the Alliance on Aging. You are the reason for our success.

I REMEMBER MAMA

Mother's Day
May 8, 2016

Did you know that hundreds of elderly women living in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities throughout Monterey County have little to no communication with anyone from outside the facilities?
For many women living in senior homes, Mother's Day can be an especially lonely occasion. Alliance on Aging's "I Remember Mama" event has changed that. This event has brightened the lives of senior women for the past 21 years. On Mother's Day weekend, community volunteers will visit each of the 76 senior care facilities in the county to deliver a flowering plant to a senior woman. Over 1,200 flowering plants were delivered last year.

This event supports the important work of the Ombudsman Program, the program that advocates for the best care possible for seniors living in nursing homes and residential care facilities.

Donations are needed! A $35 donation will provide a flowering plant for one of these senior women on Mother's Day. You can also designate the plant in honor of someone special.
