Medicare Season is Right Around the Corner

If you're soon turning 65, now is the time to learn the pertinent information needed to make the best decision for you and your health care needs. Alliance on Aging will hold a Medicare Basics presentation on September 23 in the Salinas office, where they'll cover Part A, Part B, Part C & Part D - the Prescription Drug Plans. Already have Medicare? You'll want to be prepared for the Open Enrollment period which begins October 15. Several Medicare Update seminars are scheduled throughout Monterey County. These one-hour presentations will help you to understand your options and learn how you can lower your medication costs.

After much anticipation, Aging at the Movies is returning to the AOA office in Salinas beginning Monday, September 21. Join the Senior Peer Counselor facilitators in reviewing a film related to aging; then discuss the way in which the issues were addressed. A full line up of the movies is available by clicking the popcorn below.

Start the Week Off Right with Tai Chi

Trashion Show 2015 is HERE!

The second annual Trashion Show takes place Wednesday, September 09 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Corral De Tierra Country Club in Salinas. The Trashion Show is the premier fundraising event that kicks off the Alliance on Aging Annual Support Campaign. It is a unique and outrageous fashion show featuring clothes made from recycled and repurposed materials. 

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support. We look forward to another fantastic event. 

Free Screening of "Being Mortal"

Join Compassionate Care Alliance and Hospice Giving Foundation at a free community screening of the documentary film, Being Mortal and a chance to join a very important conversation. The film aired nationally on Frontline and is adapted from Dr. Atul Gawande's 2014 nationally best selling book of the same name. Click here to read more about the film.
