Calling all Number Crunchers!

The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program is seeking Monterey County residents to volunteer for the 2015 tax season. We have two types of opportunities. Tax Preparers prepare and file tax returns. The Data Evaluator will create/maintain volunteer hours, tax site activities, monthly reports and program evaluation results. Tax experience is required, however additional training will be provided by AOA, the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board. Work sites and schedules vary throughout Monterey County between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

For information contact Sarah Guzman, TCE Program Coordinator or click on the button below to go the TCE page on our website.

The Alliance on Aging has both Medicare Update presentations and Drop In Days scheduled to help you re-evaluate your drug plan.  Check the News and Events page for the next date near you.

The staff at Alliance on Aging constructed a lovely altar for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The altar, which is in the front lobby of the Salinas office, will remain up through November 7. If you're in the area, drop by and take a look. Not familiar with Day of the Dead? Click here to read the meaning and history of this holiday that honors the loved ones who have passed on.
