"My sole source of income is Social Security.  Do I have to file taxes?"

Based on your filing status and the level of your income, you may still be required to file income taxes even if your sole source of income is your Social Security benefits.  The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) Program has several preparation sites around the county that can prepare your taxes at no cost.

Everybody's Doin It . . . Aging! Save the Date: May 21, 2013

Why? So that you can join a busload of seniors from throughout the county on Tuesday, May 21 for a trip to Salinas to appear before our county Board of Supervisors and celebrate Older American's Month.  Sponsored by Monterey County's Community for Aging, this is a timely opportunity for all of us to let our policy makers understand how critical The Older Americans Act programs are to seniors in our community.  Look for more details in the April edition of @aoa.
