As the weather gets colder, you may find that your single pane windows are not warm enough or that they are drafty. We have a quick and inexpensive solution that really works.
Window insulation kits are available at most hardware stores for $5 - $20. We found them at Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes, and online at Amazon.com.
Installation is easy - all you need is 5 minutes and a hairdryer. Here is a tutorial link that we found. |

Lighting Your Water Heater |

No hot water? It may be as simple as lighting your water heater. Occasionally, the pilot light gets blown out and rather than putting in a maintenance call, you can solve the problem easily.
We found this site with easy instructions for lighting a heater with a "sealed combustion pilot" and also an "open combustion pilot" - with pictures!
As always, please use caution and keep little kids and pets away from the water heater while you are working.
