Innovia Newsletter, December 2015
Greetings!

Sitting down, and actually slowing down, to ponder what to write for this newsletter intro, was exactly what I needed. As most will agree, the holiday rush is upon us! I'm sure many of us read or hear messages about what is most important at this time of the year - I know I do - but do we always take them to heart? I certainly try, but I also admit it isn't easy and there are simply so many things competing for our time and attention.

I've been blessed with a couple activities already this year that have really helped me personally - I was able to take on the part of a Roman soldier at our area's rotary lights, where our Lutheran churches help tell the Christmas story of Jesus' birth. Our family also attended our youngest son's Christmas program, where we heard the story told and sang through the voices of children. What neat ways to get immersed in what is most important at this time of year! I pray everyone has a blessed and peaceful Christmas!

Shiny New Gadget of the Month
Pit & Pendulum

By sharpening the mass to a point and having it describe its path through a shallow dish of sand, you can see the arc the pendulum traces on its regular rhythmic cycle as it is torn between the two forces. Back and forth, to and fro, the pendulum swings into gorgeous elliptical loops and whorls.
