So if you've read the last couple newsletters, it went from "summer is officially over" to "fall is officially here", and I went on to say I was hoping a couple months would go by before talking about winter. Well, for those of us in central (or worse, northern) Wisconsin, in one month we went to "winter is officially here!"

Last month I had the opportunity to attend my first NAVUG Summit (the national NAV user group meeting) and it was awesome!  Attendance was nearly 500 people for NAV, including the same Microsoft team from the recent Directions event (partner only) that showed NAV 2015, as well as being available in small sessions for questions, feedback and suggestions.  The ability to network with peers, have direct access to Microsoft staff, not to mention over 150 sessions, makes this an event that you should strongly consider for next year - which happens to be in Reno. Hope to see you there!

In the third and final installment on Microsoft Azure, I'm focusing on Azure related resources for those of you who are interested in learning more and trying Azure for yourself.  One of the greatest advantages of selecting a Microsoft solution when making an IT investment is the amount of resources you have at your disposal when it comes time to implement.  Microsoft Azure is no different.  There are hundreds of sites with Azure related resources as well as thousands of Microsoft partners who have invested their time and expertise into building up the Microsoft Azure community.

So let me start with the following statement.....if you haven't seen at concert at Red Rocks in Colorado then you haven't seen a concert.    I've seen concerts in small theaters, stadiums, large acoustically perfect auditoriums and nothing compares to the sound and atmosphere at Red Rocks.   As the sun sets behind you off in the distance you can see the lights of Denver coming alive.  The sky is open above you and you are high enough in the mountains to see stars that you can't see at lower elevations.   It is just an amazing sight.   Then of course the concert starts and you forget all about the surroundings.

For the last several years my wife and I have taken vacations with the sole purpose of discovering wineries in different parts of the country.   With the explosion in the number of small wineries, the country is ripe with interesting wines and people to meet.    We tend to stay in the middle of the country or what is known as "fly over country".   We have been on the west coast and, while the wine in most cases is very good, it also tends to be somewhat common place.   We have found that the new and exciting world of wine making is happening in the part of the country that 20 years ago would never have dreamed of having wineries.
