Greetings!
Spring is almost here, REALLY!
Something else that is almost here is the Dynamics NAV User Group (NAVUG) Midwest Regional meeting. This is a full day to connect and exchange valuable, "real-life" knowledge with other NAV users, not to mention the fun of the pre-event mixer the evening before! All Dynamics NAV (Navision) users are invited to attend; not just ABC customers and NAVUG members. In fact, more than 75 NAV users, supported by a wide variety of Microsoft partners, attended last year. It offers an excellent opportunity to network with, and learn from, your NAV peers in your region. I look forward to Spring officially being here, as well as seeing you at the NAVUG event!
Sincerely,
Donavan Lane, Founder
ABC Computers, Inc.

How Job Shops Gain Improved Productivity, Real-time Visibility and a Stronger Bottom Line with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
By:Tom Doran
One of the key challenges for manufacturers today including job shops is the ability to have access and visibility into information across the entire organization to help make better decisions that have a direct impact on the overall bottom line. Those businesses that haven't invested in an integrated ERP application such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) find it difficult to connect the moving parts across the organization causing a lack of control and inability to really understand what's happening in the business.

Is a Dynamics NAV 2013 Page Based on a SQL View Not Updating to Reflect the Latest Data Changes?
By: Bill Warnke
Here's a Solution!
I ran into an issue with a Dynamics NAV 2013 Page whose source table was a linked object (a NAV table attached to a SQL View) that didn't reflect the current state of the data. The only way I could to get the page to display the latest version of the data was to use the refresh button on the action tab.
To learn more on how to solve this issue and prevent it from happening to you, here is how...

When You Outgrow Jet Essentials Reporting for Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision)
By: Fria Kurowski
If you read my last blog post on Jet Essentials, you know I'm a big fan of the product. Essentials offers a real-time reporting solution for people who know Excel and want a quick way to query information from their Microsoft Dynamics NAV software. As these databases grow, however, and as queries become more complex across years of information or multiple databases, you may find that Jet Enterprise, from Jet Reports, is a more suitable solution than Essentials. Here is why....

3 Steps to Prevent CRM Failure | | By: Tom Doran
I was in a conversation with a company president recently who said to me, "The solution to our problem is CRM." I responded, "Really? Interesting comment. Can you describe your problem again?"
For the past 15 years, I have helped companies implement software to achieve specific business objectives. Sounds good, right? The challenge is, however, that so often there are no specific business objectives. Someone in the firm simply decided it was time to get new software. Or everyone in the firm grew frustrated with the current system. Something tipped the scales to the point that company leadership agreed to undertake the investment of time and money to investigate a new software solution. Worse, they may have just hired a hot shot new sales manager who said, "I ran XYZ at my last company, and if we implement that, I will turn this sales team around."
Here are the 3 steps to safeguard against CRM failure:

My Favorite Windows Phone App: Photo Beamer for Photo Sharing
By: Jeff Pergolski
When I dropped my iPhone in a glass of diet mountain dew two months ago (long story, don't ask) I was lucky enough to get it replaced with a Verizon Nokia Lumia 822. I have spent the past two months becoming acclimated to the new Windows phone and there are a lot of great things about it. I love how tightly it is integrated with Skydrive. I love the design of the OS (operating system) and how great the live tiles work to keep me informed of what is happening in my world. I love the big screen and the fact that my Windows 8 PCs share apps, information, and settings automatically with my phone based on my Windows Live ID
Of course, it isn't the perfect phone. (Does one exist?)
