Meet the Youth Advisory Council Have you been at the Theatre Ontario offices and noticed the pitter patter of little feet and gotten a contact high from our creative energies? Chances are you came into contact with a YAC'er and (drumroll) we are contagious. "But who is a YAC'er and what is the YAC?" you ask with great suspicion. We are the new kid on the block, a committee of young voices, young insight, and lots of enthusiasm!

Overcoming the "Starving Artist" Syndrome As an artist you are super-talented at so many things, but there is a missing link. Something that causes that self-fulfilling prophecy to take over your thoughts and steer you away from success... Something that just hasn't clicked yet. So why is that? The reason is that there is something that you don't know...YET. There is something that your creative mentors and teachers failed to teach you about how to succeed financially in your artistic career.
The good thing is that it's not too late. Join Lisa Phillips, Author, Speaker, Arts & Leadership Educator and Entrepreneur, for a seminar that will dispel the money myth and show you things that you can implement today to ramp-up your success and get you out of waiting tables or that crummy retail job that you hate!
Join us at "Overcoming the "Starving Artist" Syndrome workshop on Sunday, March 30 at 1pm.

Staging Sustainability: Thriving through Innovative Thinking Staging Sustainability came to Toronto on February 3 and 4. Organized by York University's Centre for Sustainable Staging and ArtsBuild Ontario, the conference was built on "a dream of bringing innovation from around the world to Toronto's theatre community" through a conversation about sustainability in the performing arts. In the opening plenary, Arlene Goldbard defined sustainability with an emphasis on "thriving" -- and indeed many of the stories we heard over the two days of the conference were encouraging.
