Bringing the Bard to Life Discover your intuitive impulses to the works of William Shakespeare - join us at our weekend intensive "Unearthing Shakespeare" with Melinda Little and Peter Van Wart, February 14 to 16 in Toronto.
This weekend intensive workshop will focus on developing the textual, vocal and physical tools necessary to bring a Shakespearean role to life. Body expressiveness, vocal dexterity and text understanding will be explored and brought into performance. It is ideal for actors wanting to craft a character from the Bard; for performers wishing to expand or heighten their stage presence; and for directors seeking to ground the acting work on the rehearsal floor through high stakes exploration.

Ontario Off Stage "Ontario Off Stage" curates theatre news and conversations from around the province and beyond. Highlights from the past month include:
- Buddies In Bad Times' Rhubarb Festival was not funded by Canadian Heritage - with no indication of why they didn't meet the criteria for funding. Has "community" and "engagement" been turned against art that is outside the mainstream?
- "Our job is not to give people what they want but what they need" - Is this a false and unhelpful comparison, or one that just needs better terminology
- Does Canada have an actor training problem?
- Lessons learned while creating a "roaming audience" theatre experience
- Ontario Trillium Foundation grant recipients in Ontario theatre
- Do niche social media sites bring focus or fragmentation to a conversation?
- Migrations at Theatre Passe Muraille and Oshawa Little Theatre
- Toasts for the Capital Critics Circle Awards
