"People may know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday... now GivingTuesday is coming to Canada on December 3, 2013.  GivingTuesday is a National Giving Day.  It is a new Canadian movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Cyber Monday.  The "opening day of the giving season," it is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others."

Theatre Ontario is thrilled to be part of GivingTuesday - sharing the importance of giving to theatre in Ontario.

New Youth Advisory Committee Seeking Volunteers

Youth Training Courses at Theatre Ontario Theatre Ontario is currently undergoing major changes in order to become more accessible to young adults and young professionals (16-25).  In order to accomplish this, we are looking to form a Youth Advisory Committee.  The Committee will be responsible for establishing and implementing a plan of action for the next twelve months with the aim of creating greater accessibility to young theatre artists and patrons, and students of theatre.

Who we're looking for: Five individuals between the ages of 16-25. Applicants should have a strong interest in theatre in Ontario/the GTA, meaning that they attend shows on a regular basis (>5 times a year).

Expand your creative toolbox and let your new ideas flourish

We're pleased to welcome David S. Craig as our co-instructor with Jim Warren for "Collective Creations: Crafting a Performance Piece", running November 29 to December 1 in London.

This weekend intensive is ideal for actors wanting to know how to polish their character development; performers wishing to refine their artistic process; directors seeking to harness and further creativity on the rehearsal floor; or playwrights looking for ways to enhance their story ideas.

In Collective Creations, led by the ingenious and inspiring talents of Jim and David, participants will work on the process of creating an original work of theatre, from its inception, to its development, and on to its refinement in preparation for performance.
