AWC Annual Awards and Recognition Event

What a great event!  AWC's Annual Event was amazing.  Over 140 attendees and a great way to close out 2012 and start 2013. The evening kicked off with an address from City of Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman.  The Mayor did a wonderful job discussing the construction projects in Saint Paul, the participation of WBEs, and his vision for economic growth in the City.
Mayor Dianne Claudia
His address was followed by the ceremony to honor the first recipient of the "Claudia Osterman Women's Advocate Award".  Claudia presented the award for long term advocacy for women in the construction industry to Dianne Holte, Holte Contracting.

My Cancer Update

For those that haven't heard,  I was diagnosed this past month with an aggressive Grade 3/Stage 3 Breast Cancer.  It is what they call triple negative and without giving you all a ton of technical information, what it means is that Chemotherapy is the immediate aggressive treatment.  I have had one treatment and will have 7 more scheduled every other week.  I am tolerating it well so far and plan to win this fight.

What this means is I may be a little slower to respond, but I am still working and checking emails daily.  To make sure that you all continue to receive the services you expect, AWC has hired Claudia Osterman to assist on days I am unable to work.  You can contact her directly at claudia@awcmn.org.  Janelle is also still working to keep our events running smoothly and can be contacted via email: janelle@awcmn.org.

If you want to check my progress at anytime I am journaling on Caring Bridge .

Positively,

Barb
