Stadiums Stadiums
What positive news for the industry to have two stadiums being constructed in the Twin Cities.
The Vikings Stadium Update: HKS Design Group of Dallas was chosen to be the architect for the new Vikings Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. HKS has pledged to work with a local architectural firm for a portion of the design and has committed to hiring 19% targeted businesses- 11% woman and 8% minority-owned firms for portions of the contract. Certifications required to count toward the goals are either the DBE or TGB. You can find more information on these certifications by clicking on them.
The Metropolitan Council has agreed to loan two executives as consultants to assist in the development of a process the Authority will use to ensure the involvement of women and minority firms in the stadium project.
St. Paul Saints Stadium Update:
Congratulations to Ryan Companies for being awarded the Design Build Contract for the Saint Stadium. Minneapolis-based Ryan Companies will design and construct the new, $54 million St. Paul Saints stadium in the city's Lowertown neighborhood. The company recently announced that the City of St. Paul and the St. Paul Saints minor league baseball team have selected it to serve as the general contractor and the lead designer for the project. Ryan will collaborate with architectural firm AECOM and Minneapolis-based Julie Snow Architects in designing the stadium.
This is a City of Saint Paul project so certification within the Central CERT Program will be required for contractors to count toward the WBE/MBE/SBE goals that the city sets. |
