Introducing Parker ML18

The Newest and Smallest I-Force Ironless Linear Motor

The ML18 is the newest addition to Parker's family of Ironless Linear Motors. At a height of 35 mm and width of 18 mm, the ML18 offers a more compact solution for your application needs. Three coil lengths are available providing a peak force up to 50.1 N, and are optimized to run on 24 to 80 volts DC.

The ML18 incorporates the I-Force I-beam shape with overlapping windings allowing for high power density, improved heat removal, and added structural stiffness. In addition, the ironless linear motor design has no attractive forces allowing for zero cogging, rapid accelerations, and easy installation.

SMAC Linear Rotary Actuators

Patented "Soft-Land" for Delicate or High Value Components

SMAC provides a comprehensive selection of combined linear and rotary actuators with either direct drive or gearbox equipped rotary units. They can easily be programmed to control force/torque, position and velocity in all axes at the same time.

The actuator has SMAC's unique "Soft-Land" function which enables the unit to gently land on a delicate component with a controlled force to avoid damage of both the component and the actuator. This makes them ideal for applications such as pick and place and assemble.

The vacuum-built-in shaft through the rotary motor is available for some models to prevent dust build-up in the unit. These z-theta actuators can easily be programmed to control force/torque, position and velocity in all axes at the same time with feedback capability.

Parker Economic P Series Servo System

High Performance and Competitively Priced

The new Parker P Series servo system combines compact, flexible, advanced functionality drives with high performance motors for a superior servo system, providing unique value to machine builders.

The P-Series drives operate with a variety of machine control architectures and offer sophisticated servo capability. A number of different feedback types are supported to drive a wide range of linear and rotary servo motors. The best matches are the P-Series motors, which include absolute encoders and populate motor nameplate data back to the drives for simplified commissioning.

Accurate and easy to use inertia detection leads to fast set-up of tuning parameters and minimal settling time. Advanced filtering and vibration suppression features can be used to increase throughput and improve positioning performance.

For high speed, real-time network applications, the P-Series is available with EtherCAT, the fastest growing, most flexible industrial Ethernet.

New Way Launched Air Turn Technology

Enabling Non-Contact Handling of Flexible Films

New Way launches their latest concept, enabling flexible films to float over non-turning "Air Turns" rather than contact rollers.

New Way's porous carbon surface features millions of sub-mircon sized holes, which enable you to maintain a thin but robust air film across the bearing surface, preventing contact with your flexible substrate. The film floats on stationary rollers on a frictionless air bearing. Utilizing a radial air bearing to drive and position the film while controlling the web tension to a fraction of a gram.

Air Bearing Viscous Shear Enables Other Non-Contact Performance Characteristics for Flexible Film Processing.
